How do I create a case in GestaltMatcher Database?

Once your account has been approved, you can upload cases directly through the GestaltMatcher Database (GMDB) web platform. This helps expand the diversity and depth of the database and supports both research and AI development.

Here is how to get started:

1. Log in to GMDB.

2. Navigate to My Data → My Patients.

3. Click New Patient to begin entering the case.

You will be asked to provide clinical information and medical images of the patient:

• Metadata, such as sex, ethnicity, and age

• Choose whether the case is private or FAIR (visible to other users)

• Phenotypic information, including diagnosis (if available) and HPO terms

• A portrait photo or other images (X-rays, MRIs, pictures of other body parts,...)

Cases marked as FAIR will be visible to other verified users, including in the gallery view. Private cases are only visible to you and your team.
