Can other users see my patient’s photo??
Only if you choose to make the case FAIR (shared) and have obtained the appropriate informed consent, other users can see your patient’s photo.
When uploading a case to the GestaltMatcher Database (GMDB), you control the visibility settings of both the case and each individual image:
If the case is set to FAIR (shared) and the image is marked as shared, the photo will appear in the Gallery view, visible to all verified users of GMDB.
If the case is set to private, or if the image is marked as private, the photo is only visible to you, the uploading clinician.
Documents such as clinical reports or lab findings should always be marked as private and are never visible to others.
You can adjust these settings at any time, for example, after obtaining consent to share the case more broadly. Without both appropriate settings and valid consent, your patient’s photo will not be visible to other users.
