Why is it important to select a gallery photo when uploading a case?
The gallery photo is the image that will represent your case in the Gallery view of GestaltMatcher Database. This view allows other clinicians to browse the FAIR (shared) cases, so selecting a meaningful gallery photo increases the chance that your case will be noticed and understood in context.
While you can upload several images per case (e.g. portraits at different ages, profile portraits, X-rays, MRIs or images of other body parts), only the selected gallery photo will be visible at first glance. Other images become visible only after someone opens the full case report.
To make your case as useful as possible for others, we recommend choosing a clear, frontal facial image as the gallery photo, especially if the facial gestalt was relevant in the diagnostic process.
