How do I sign up for GMDB?

Access to the GestaltMatcher Database is limited to verified medical professionals and researchers to protect the sensitive data of the individuals included in the database.

There are three ways to sign up:

• Request access by email:
  Send a short email to with your name, professional background, and institutional affiliation. If possible, use your work email, or attach proof of your medical or research background. Once your information is verified, we will send you an invitation token that allows you to create your account.

• Join via invitation link:
  If a colleague already has access to GestaltMatcher, they can invite you to join via a personal sign-up link. You may also have received an invite or QR code if you met us at a conference or presentation.

• Via the app:
  When signing up directly through the app, accounts with formal professional email addresses may be activated directly. Otherwise, we will request verification via email before your account is activated.

We review new user requests regularly and aim to grant access as quickly as possible.

Once your account is activated, you can use the same login credentials to access both GestaltMatcher Database and the GestaltMatcher app. The app is available for download on smartphones and tablets. You can find it under the name GestaltMatcher in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
