How do I request a micro-publication for my uploaded case?
A micro-publication is a citable, DOI-linked case report. It offers a way to share case reports within an access-controled environment. Unlike journal articles, micro-publications remain within GestaltMatcher Database (GMDB) and can be deleted if consent is revoked.
Clinicians who upload a well-documented case can request a micro-publication. To request a micro-publication for your case, please follow these steps:
- Upload your case as a FAIR case to GMDB. The minimal requirements are a patient photo, HPO terms, and the disease gene.
- Open the datasheet of your submitted case and click Request DOI. You will need to provide a title and an abstract for your case report.
- Submit your request. Your case will be reviewed and our reviewers may contact you if any changes are needed. Once accepted, your case automatically becomes a citable micro-publication. You will receive a DOI, and a publicly accessible page will be created for your case. Images will remain visible only to logged-in users of the database.
